Red October is a cultural centre in the middle of Moscow. A chocolate factory in the past, now it is a lovely city's area where. among other places, you can visit the open areas of Moscow Art Industrial Institute. 

You can see creations of young students specialized in graphic,design and fashion - the future art stars of tomorrow. Tourists can go there to see  exhibitions of modern arts, have a coffee  with students and also appreciate Russian traditions.

Hi there,

Near the large sky scrapers of Moscow City there is an old sugar factory hiding. The place is covered by cool street art and the area is also used as an exposition room and events take place here now and than. I was there when students presented their studies on urbanisation related topics. Quite difficult if your russian is not that good yet, however, the first floor cotained interesting modern art. Inform their facebook page for updates about events, it's worth a visit.

Mayakovsky Museum

This museum is madness!! And at the same time a beautiful dedication to Russian artist and writer Mayakovsky. The whole building is held in the style of Russian futurism. When you enter, you probably will first of all experience a sensual overload - everything is crooked, there are loads and loads of details and you don't know where you should concentrate on. Every room covers a  certain topic such as his early writings, his trips to Europe, his political attitude and use of his oeuvre for propaganda, his suicide and his literary afterlife. A feast for the senses!

A nice collection of contemporary art. There are always new works presented, in a variation of different styles. If you are into modern art, I recommend you to go there!

Design Factory Artplay

From all Design Centers I have seen this one is my favorite so far! There is so much to explore, a bookshop, a cafe, exhibitions, a photo studio as well as other magazines and  a nightclub. Everything is in progress. You can bore your way deeper and deeper in the complex . Right now, beneath others there is an exhibition about ecological design. It's just a great place you should have seen!!

Winzavod Art Centre

An interesting Design Centre opened in an old vine plant that hosts many art galleries, photo studios, and shops that sell many witty products. Absolutely worth going to if you are into old buildings and there something like little catacombs, you can say that they have their own peculiar charm.
