Comics and visual culture centre

Only a few years ago Moscow was a place of no particular interest for comic book lovers - perhaps only as the place of origin of comic book villains. Today there is a whole community of those interested in this art which is relevant and full of potential.

One of the best ways to become its part in Moscow is to visit the Comics and visual culture centre of the Russian State Library for Young Adults. It's a well-equipped, comfortable space filled with comic books - there you can spend hours mindlessly browsing or contemplating conceptual differences between different comic universes. Those who would like to turn their hobby into something more can participate in art workshops or even the comic book drawing school. The centre regularly holds lectures on the history and evolution of this kind of art and has even created two clubs devoted to western and oriental cultures - comic books and manga respectively.
